Honda's production in the country is growing 9.1%

Honda reported on Thursday that local production of automaker gained 9.1 percent growth last year in 2012. Already the plates issued in the country had increased 3.2% on the same basis of comparison, which resulted in 3.9% market share, the company's record in Brazil.
According to the automaker last year, 136.2 million vehicles were produced in the factory of Sumaré (SP). In addition to brand imports, as a whole the company charted 139.2 thousand units in Brazil.
"The investments announced in 2013 are intended to strengthen the development of models increasingly aligned to the needs and expectations of the Brazilian consumer," he said, in a statement, the Chief Executive Officer of Honda Cars of Brazil, Roberto Akiyama.
Last year, the brand announced two major investments programmes. The largest of which refers to the construction of a new automobile factory in Itirapina (SP), which will start its production from 2015. The approximate investment is of r $ 1 billion.
Categories according to Honda, the results by model, the average Civic sedan earned 20.8% growth in sales compared to the previous year, with 60.9 thousand plates issued.
Already sales of the Fit models and City also recorded good performance, says the automaker. In 2013, 48 thousand were sold and 29.2 thousand units, respectively.
