According to the brewery, the new packaging was designed to express "sophisticated simplicity". "Heineken packagings must remain faithful to the fundamental values of the brand," says Mark van Iterson, global Manager of Heineken's design.
The design process of Tin started at the beginning of 2012, was done in partnership between the design team of Heineken and the Dutch agency DBOD. The new design emphasizes the aluminum silver color and the Red Star. "The star is one of the most important visual symbols of Heineken, and has always been part of the visual identity of the brand. We made her get bigger and more visible, so they stand out in the eyes of the consumer, "explains Mark. There are also some subtle details. "For example, we redefine the Green emblem on the packaging, removing the white Centre, to give a sense of transparency," he says.
