Vehicle production increases 39.2% in March, according to Anfavea

SAO PAULO-the production of light commercial vehicles, trucks and buses in Brazil totaled 319,121 units in March 2013, a high of 39.2% in comparison with February and a 3.4% compared with the same period in 2012. With the result, accumulates in the first three months of high of 12.1% 2013 on the same basis for comparison of 2012, with 827,727 units. The data was released earlier by the National Association of Automotive vehicle manufacturers (Anfavea).
Only cars and light commercials, production reached 298,373 units, up 40.5% compared to the previous month and an increase of 3.0% over March last year. The production of trucks totaled 16,948 units-elevation of 21.9% compared with February and high of 6.6% over March 2012. In the case of buses, were produced 3,800 units in March, an increase of 26.2% over the previous month and high of 30.9% compared to March last year.
Already sales of light commercial vehicles, trucks and buses rose by 20.8% in March compared with the previous month, with 283,912 units, and retreated 5.5% in comparison with March 2012. Year to date, the plates issued reached 830,474 units, a high of 1.5% on the same period in 2012.
The slice of automobiles and light commercial vehicles (flex) bi-fuel reached 88.9% in March, above the participation registered in February, of 88.3%. In all, flex vehicles totaled 238,798 units last month. In March last year, the participation of the sales of flexible-fuel vehicles was 85.9%.
Export
Brazilian automotive sector's exports, in values, totaled $ 1,386 billion in March, a high of 25.8% over the month of February and an increase of 4.3% in comparison with March 2012. The values they consider exports of vehicles and agricultural machinery.
The March ended with 43,519 light commercial vehicles, trucks and buses exported, an advance of 37.1% compared with February and a high of 3.1% on the same period last year.
External sales totaled at the end of the first three months of this year, $ 3.49 billion, a fall of 2.0% over same period in 2012. In the first quarter, were exported 111,504 units of cars, light commercials, trucks and buses, resulting in a slight decline of 0.2% compared with the same period in 2012.
Employment
The automotive sector ended the month of March with 151,930 employees, which represents a stability compared to February. In comparison with March 2012, progress was made of 4.8% in the quota of employees, whereas vehicles and agricultural machinery.
The vehicle segment registered a slight fall of 0.2% compared with February in total employees, a total of 131,413 people. Over the same month last year, the breakthrough in March was 4.9%.
The agricultural machinery sector had increased from 1.3% in the number of employees in comparison with February and recorded 20,517. In comparison with March 2012, the high was 3.7%.
Agricultural machines
Domestic sales of agricultural machines wholesale in March showed a high of 18% over February and 38.3% advance against the same month of 2012. In all, 7,323 units were sold, according to Anfavea. In the first three months of 2013, sales accumulate high of 29.6% over the same period in 2012 and, in the last 12 months, the advance is 13.8%, when compared to the period April 2011 to March last year.
The production of agricultural machinery rose 9.4% in March compared with the previous month and reached 8,472 units. The result also means an increase of 7.5% over March 2012. Date of 2013, were produced agricultural machines, 22,348 number 3.8% over the same interval last year.
Exports of agricultural machines in values totaled US $ 289,26 million in March, an increase of 6.3% in comparison with February and a slight low of 0.6% when compared with the same month of 2012. In 2013, until March, exports declined by 12.5% in the first three months of 2012.
Were exported, in total, 1,207 agricultural machinery in March, up 22% over February and indentation of 34.5% over the same month of 2012. Year to date, exports of agricultural machinery totaled 3,013 units, 36.7% drop on the same period in 2012.
