Exemption of smartphones should come out in April

Prediction is the Minister Paulo Bernardo; project depends on the signature of President Dilma Rousseff.
The telecommunications Minister, Paulo Bernardo said on Tuesday (2/4) that the inclusion of the so-called law of smartphones as well, which will relieve this type of appliance, must be signed by President Dilma Roussef in the coming days.
After passing through the Ministry of finance, the project is in the hands of the Presidency of the Republic for approval. "The exemption will come out in April," said the Minister.
Paul Bernardo's prediction was that the measure was approved before Christmas to boost sales in the best time of the year to trade. "We expected the exemption for the second half of last year, but the Tribunal de Contas da União (TCU) has established new criteria, "explains Bernard.
According to him, there was an agreement on the criteria last Thursday (28/3). The law of good desonera PIS and Cofins of smartphones and should be for devices that cost up to $ 1500.

One of the proposals is $ 1,000 ceiling for smartphones with 3 g technology and r $ 1.5 billion devices with 4 g, which will be the first operating networks in Brazil from April. For values above the ceiling there is no type of exemption, according to the Minister.
In mid-December, the smartphone makers have pledged to pass on the benefits received through tax incentives for the final consumer.
The commitment is part of a term signed between Bernardo and the manufacturers Samsung, LG, Nokia, Motorola and Sony. It is expected that the prices of smartphones produced in Brazil have reduction of up to 25%.
