Bradesco must capture cards $ 170 billion in 2013

SAO PAULO-the area of Bradesco bank cards must total $ 170 billion in financial volume in 2013, according to the segment, Vinicius Director Urias Favarão. The amount, if realized, would represent a growth of 17% compared to the figure in the year immediately preceding captured. However, the pace of expansion, according to Favarão, will be a bit lower, below the high of 18% in 2012.
According to the Executive, the advance designed for the area, although minor, is in line with the estimates of the Abecs (Brazilian Association of credit card companies and services). The Association predicts growth of 15% to 17% for the cards industry in the coming years.
The Director of the Bradesco ruled out, however, that the lowest advance is related to increased competitiveness. "The competition is very aggressive, but not impacted the transacted volume. The expansion of 17% is in line with the result presented by our area in 2012, "he said, in a conversation with journalists.
The Executive added that much of the banking process of the Brazilian population has been made although still bet an important reflection of new entrants in the sector. "Currently, the consumption of Brazilian families 25% is paid with electronic media. In more developed markets, as in the USA, this participation is double, "noted Favarão. "There is potential to more than double this sector in Brazil."
Without disclosing the participation of debit and credit cards in sales of the Bank, the Director of the Bradesco said that the growth rate of the volume transacted in plastics of debt is higher than credit. Favarão participates on Wednesday the launch of the first credit card of the Harley-Davidson in Brazil, in partnership with Bradesco.
