Environment signs agreement for the correct disposal of packaging

On 19 December, the Environment Minister, Izabella Teixeira, signed an agreement with companies representative of lubricating oils for recycling and proper disposal of solid waste. Expectations for 2013 is to be adhered companies manufacturers of lamps, medicines, glasses and electronic waste. The lubricating oils sector was the pioneer to sign the agreement.
The law establishing the national solid waste Policy (12,305/2010) requires that manufacturers, importers, distributors and traders shall set up a system of independent gathering and disposal of product manufactured so it doesn't contaminate ecosystems. According to the Minister, the companies will be monitored by an online system of the Ministry of the environment and those who do not fulfill the agreement if you will frame the law of Environmental Crime.
Even before the agreement, the Lubricants Fenix, Paulínia/SP company that works with the re-refining of oil and solid waste collection, is an example of this work which aims, first and foremost, the preservation of the environment. Through the project "clean house", the company promotes environmentally correct way, collecting, transport and final disposal of solid waste generated at service stations. A specialized fleet and enabled collects plastic containers, tow, EPI ´ s and oil filters that are sent for recycling and separated in jars, lids and labels.
Oil filters, IPE and tow go through co-processing (environmentally suitable final disposal of waste in cement kilns with the use of the energy contained in these materials and/or substitution of raw materials and operation regulated and licensed by the competent environmental bodies) and oil contaminant in these wastes are sent to re-refining.
The results of this work are excellent both for the undertaking and on the preservation of the environment. According to results, the first half of 2012 the Lubricants Fenix collected five times more solid waste in this period compared to the year 2008. "All the positive result is the achievement of a continuous and gradual work that the Fenix performs with responsibility and efficiency," commented the industrial Manager, Rodrigo Domene.
About the OLUC (lubricating oil Used and Contaminated) collection of OLUC is done since 1993 when the practice became mandatory. At this time, only 11.46% of the oil consumed in the country was routed to recycling. After the edition of 9 resolution of Conama (National Environment Council – 1993) many companies would so to worry more with recycling and, since then, oil indices collected increases year by year. Procedures for waste collection and re-refining of Oluc contribute to the conservation of ecosystems, rivers and seas, because, through specific chemical/physical processes metals are removed from the lubricant. In addition to not impact the nature, the rerrefinado oil can be used for the same purpose and, depending on how it is used, its performance can be even better.
