Vehicle production fell 3.1 percent in October

Between the six of the 27 branches investigated who recorded losses in the production in October compared with September, had featured the 5.9% drop in the beverage sector, the indentation of 2.2% of other chemicals, and the reduction of 0.6% in the food segment.
The rise in industrial production in October, the third consecutive time, it hasn't been enough to offset the decline recorded in the previous three months, the evaluation of the IBGE. From August to October, the industry has accumulated growth of 1.3%. However, from May to July the accumulated loss was 2.3%, calculated André Macedo, Manager of Industry coordination of the Institute. "Even with this clear improvement in the pace of industrial production in the last three months, the result is still insufficient to overcome the loss of May to July. So has negative balance still to be recovered, "said Macedo. "Of course there's improvement, especially compared to the previous period, but it's still a fairly moderate growth," he added.
The Manager of the research pointed out that the highlight in the October result was growth in production recorded by 21 of the 27 industrial sectors investigated. "What draws attention in October is the widespread positive rate profile," he said.
