Klabin believes in positive scenario for 2014

Klabin is optimistic about 2014, and sees recovery scenario in the international market. The analysis is the Member of the Board of Directors of the company, Armando Klabin, who spoke exclusively to ValorPRO, real-time service Value, during event in Rio.
"I can only say that we're optimistic and, as such, we are carrying out the biggest enterprise of the whole life of the company," he said, referring to the project Puma, new pulp mill to be built in the State of Paraná, and that will add 1.5 million tons of pulp production capacity to Klabin, in 2016.
Currently, the production capacity of the company, according to the Executive, is 1.7 million tons. "Klabin meets with its installed capacity virtually absorbed, and so we will continue; We are working at the top of our ability. [Which demonstrates our] bet very firm on the market, "he explained.
Armando hinted that this project is needed to meet demand today. "We accept that the current demands are being met and we're already getting ready for the remainder of the century. We believe that the market will continue to grow, "he continued.
The project, recently announced, will require $ 5.8 billion in investments. The plant will be self-sufficient in electric power generation, with a production of 260 megawatts (MW) of power. Of this total, the prediction is that 110 MW are used for personal consumption at Klabin and the 150 MW surplus-enough energy to power a city of half a million inhabitants-available for the Brazilian electric system.
Most of the company's production of pulp and paper is intended for the domestic market: two-thirds. Klabin said that domestic demand is steady. The expectation rests, however, on the international market, which accounts for one-third of the company's business.
"We hope that there is no economic development to increase our demand. As we today are internationalized, [We hope] the world matches our expectation, "continued Klabin.
The Executive said that the recovery in the United States and Europe "certainly" can help in increased demand. "Obviously, in andor of carriage, we see that there are vectors that can create some kind of difficulty, but that will be overcome because the need to create jobs is vital for everybody," said Armando.
In relation to new investment, the Executive said the company will insure. "We're going to take our precautions, because our investment in this project is so large that it justified to conclude what we're doing, before considering new budget outbreak. [We also work] in the finishing of the projects that we're already deploying now, "he concluded.
The Executive participated yesterday, the inauguration of the building of Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), in Rio, which has design by the architect Oscar Niemeyer. This is the first work of architect completed after his death.
