Lenovo enters the sector of domestic consumption and mira LED lamp

Lenovo, the Chinese company with extensive experience in the area of technology, decided to enter the national market of lighting, betting on manufacture of LED light bulbs (led acronym in English).
Over the next three years, the company intends to conquer a space between the five largest companies in the industry installed in Brazil today. To make this idea, the brand has started local production at the end of August and already marketed approximately 10 thousand units.
"We are given only the corporate market in this first phase of production, but we also work with the lighting area and accommodation", explains the General Manager of LED lamps from Lenovo, Vanderlei Fernandes.
The new production line is installed at the factory of CCE-Brazilian company acquired by Lenovo last year-in the city of Manaus, State of Amazonas. The current portfolio consists of five product lines and can be extended next year, according to initial results recorded by the company.
"We are very optimistic and believe that 2014 will be very promising. At the end of this year, lamps designed for household begin to arrive at retail. In terms of volume, this will be our biggest crowd, "adds Fisher.
Last year, the national market of lighting moved about $ 3.8 billion gathering all categories. On occasion, the LED segment was responsible for the sale of 0.5 million units, while the incandescent registered 250 million, according to data from the Brazilian Association of lighting industry (Abilux).
"We believe that by the year 2020 LED lamps will represent approximately 70% of sales accounted for by the global market of lighting", casts the Executive of Lenovo.
According to the professional, the project of the federal Government for the withdrawal of incandescent lamps of low efficiency of the domestic market, together with the existing space for growth in domestic consumption of LED lamps, boosted the brand to invest in the sector.
"The great advantage of lamps with LED technology in reducing the operating cost which they provide to companies, as well as the economy of electric energy in residences," says Ferreira.
The entry into the market of lighting was a desire of the CCE, which began studying its feasibility for four years. After acquiring the brand, Lenovo decided to give continuity to the project. The first units sold in the country are being marketed under the name FreeLed. However, the company has not yet defined the official name nor what will be the fate of the brand CCE.
