Cielo's profit grows 17% in third quarter

SAO PAULO-the Cielo recorded net profit (attributable to shareholders) of R $ 689,2 million in the third quarter of this year, representing a growth of 17% compared to the same period in 2012. The total consolidated result amounted to r $ 691,2 million, with 17% advance.
The financial volume of transactions of the company of means of payment, in criterion market, totaled r $ 113.2 billion, an increase of 17.6% compared to the third quarter of last year. On the same basis of comparison, net operating revenue grew 31.6 percent, to $ 1.7 billion.
The cash generation of Cielo as measured by Ebitda (acronym for earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) totaled r $ 929,7 million, an increase of 19% in comparison with the period from July to September 2012. The Ebitda margin, however, retreated 5.6 percentage points and stood at 53.5 percent in the third quarter of this year.
The Cielo obtained a net revenue of anticipation of receivables of $ 146,7 million, up 9.5% compared to the months of July to September 2012. The anticipation of receivables amounted to 16.6% of the volume of credit, financial surge of 6.1 percentage points compared to the second quarter of last year.
