Ambev see more positive scenario for 2014

Beverage maker Ambev said yesterday that the volume in the consumption of beer and soda should present better results from the next year, due to the actions of the Government in combating rising inflation, the less impact of taxes and the arrival of the World Cup.
According to the Vice President of finance and investor relations of Ambev, Nelson Jamel, the Brazilian market is challenging. However, if the three actions cited line up, the results of the company in terms of volume, should be better.
"We will continue betting on four fronts: innovation, promotion of specific categories of premium beers, expansion of the portfolio of packaging and consumption growth in the North and Northeast," said during conference call results.
The company recorded a net profit of $ 2.28 billion, attributed to their controllers, in the third quarter of this year. The result represents a fall of 7.9% compared to the same period last year.
Already in the year to date, the company's net profit comes home of R $ 6.5 billion, down 2.8 percent compared with the same period in 2012. Third-quarter net revenue totaled r $ 8.46 billion, up 5.3% in comparison with the same period last year. The increase is motivated, among other reasons, by the transfer of prices put in place by the company in recent months.
Year to date, the net revenue of the company reached the mark of R $ 23.7 billion, up 7.4% compared to the same period in 2012. In Brazil, beer category increased by 0.8%, with 5% drop in volume. Already in the refrigerant, the Division's net revenue grew 5.4%, with 2% drop in volume.
