Vehicle sales fall for second month followed

Vehicle sales in September fell for the second month followed, with a decline of 5.9 percent compared to August. In comparison with the same month of 2012 was checked high of 7.6%. In all, were licensed 309.9 million cars, light commercials, trucks and buses.

The sector counts on heating in business mainly in the last two months of the year. To the Fenabrave's President, Flávio Meneghetti, the prospect of redialling of the IPI "indicates that there will be heating in sales in the last two months, balancing the result of 2013 to something around 1 percent positive before 2012".
On Monday, the Finance Minister, Guido Mantega, responded with a "Let's see" commenting on the possibility of the IPI be maintained at the current level. "As it is defined by January, there's no reason to move this story by then. Let's see the scenery, but the auto industry is doing well, selling well, "he said.

In September, sales of trucks and buses amounted to 15.9 thousand units, down 3.45 percent compared to August and high of 51.6% compared with a year ago. In the nine months of 2013, sales of those vehicles have reached 141.9 thousand units, up 16 percent compared with the same period in 2012.
If they are coupled with motorcycles, road equipment and agricultural machines, total vehicles sold in September reached 449.6 thousand units, 6.57% less than in August, but 7% higher than in September last year.
With 22% stake, Fiat led sales in September, followed by Volkswagen (19 percent), GM (. 17%) and Ford (9.7 percent). The goal was again the best-selling car in the country, with 22 thousand units, followed by Uno (14.5 thousand) and Palio.(12.8 thousand).
