Inflation of beer is almost double the official rate

Price of drink increased by 10.05% average while IPCA advanced 5.86%
The only summer officially arrives in December, but the Brazilian consumer already paid more when buying beer, drink that remains one of the most appreciated in the country. From January to September, the average value of beer accumulate high of 6.52% according to the national consumer price Index (IPCA) of the Brazilian Institute of geography and statistics (IBGE), the country's official inflation indicator. In the year up to the ninth month, the beer was 5.51% more expensive and advanced more than 3 percent only in September, according to the Economic Research Institute Foundation (Fipe).
Difficult is to point a single reason for the rise of beer, according to analysts. One of the reasons is the rising price of wheat and their derivatives abroad in recent months. The pressure was being caused by the uncertainties with the grain harvest in the United States and due to climate problems in Argentina and Brazil.
Another argument is the heated income, which has secured more money in the pocket of the consumer. There is also the late effect of the depreciation of the exchange rate at the end of the second quarter. "It may be seasonality," said economist and coordinator of the IPC-Fipe, Rafael Costa Lima.
