China wants to invest $ 1 billion in Bahia

The Chongqing Grain Group co. Ltd will invest more than $ 1 billion in Bahia. Second largest distributor of edible vegetable oil in China, the company is responsible for the installation of soybean crushing in the western part of the State, in barriers, with an investment of $ 300 million. This first step represented a milestone in relations between Brazil and China in the field of agribusiness which opened great possibilities of other investments, mainly in the area of textile and fertilizer.
The announcement was made by the Association of Farmers and Rinsing of Bahia (Aiba), who has been on a mission with other State representatives in the Asian country for ten days. According to the entity, the investments will be in the areas of ports, industry, storage and logistics.
According to the Aiba, the Chinese Chongqing textile industries requested a study for the formation of a joint venture between it and Brazilian companies. The goal is to transfer a complete textile unit idle in Chongqing to the West of Bahia.
The unit has the capacity to produce yarn, fabric and apparel, as well as a forecast of generating roughly 5,000 jobs in the region.
To the President of the Association of Farmers and Rinsing of Bahia (Aiba), Júlio Cézar Busato, the Mission in China was very positive. "We show to our buyers and investors who we are and what we do," he said. "We have today a production like fibre grain both in quantity and quality and can triple the eight million tons produced, with the incorporation of new areas to the productive system, expansion of irrigated area and improving logistics infrastructure," said Busato.

Growth of 45.7% studies done by the Office of strategic management of the Ministério da Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimento (AGE/Map) point growth in soybean crops, sugar cane, maize, rice, wheat and grapes in the next ten years.

The sugarcane harvest 2022/2023 of Paraná is estimated at 55.2 million tonnes, against 39.7 million of current crop, i.e. growth of 39%.
In Minas Gerais the projected increase is 61.2%, considering that the production envisaged in this year's 51.2 million tons with 82.5 million forecast in ten years.
The Mato Grosso will also increase in the production of cane sugar, the estimate is 20.8 million tonnes, against 16.3 million in 2013, representing a growth of 27.8%.
