Cellulose companies hit record highs in the third quarter

SAO PAULO-the expectation that the period between July and September were to become the best quarter in the history of Brazilian pulp and paper industry was confirmed. The same occurred in the joint net revenue totaled r $ 4,564 billion. This is the first time that the result of companies beyond the barrier of $ 4.5 billion-the survey made by the Broadcast, real-time information service the Agência Estado, considers data since the beginning of the last decade.

As the largest part of Fibria's recipe (approximately 90%) and Suzano (53%) is obtained with exports, the dollar appreciated boosts revenues in real, obtained from sales made in dollars. Another positive effect of the exchange rate for business happens in the domestic market: with the dollar appreciated, the competitiveness of the imported product shrinks, which makes room for a greater sales volume and price adjustments.
