Volkswagen sales grow 11.2% in 2012

Volkswagen struck in 2012 a record sales of 9.07 million vehicles, up 11.2% from 2011, reported the German automaker this Sunday in Detroit. The company reported that its sales grew in the United States, China and Latin America, and remained stable in Europe, despite the economic crisis and the sharp drop in the sale of vehicles in the European market.
Volkswagen, which plans to turn the world's biggest carmaker, still remains relatively distant from the current world leader in the industry, the Japanese Toyota, which provided 22% expansion in sales in 2012, to 9.7 million vehicles.
