Sony Mobile plans to raise in 30% local production

Sony Mobile phone unit of Japanese Sony, wants to increase 30% the production of handsets in Brazil in 2013, to 104 thousand units per month. The expansion aims to supply the company's expansion plans in the Smartphone market throughout the year. "We want to increase the market share of 5% to 8%," said value, Kuay, Chairman of the company in Brazil. The Executive did not reveal how much the company will invest in the country. Local production of Sony Mobile is made by Foxconn, in Jundiaí.
According to the Executive, the company's strategy for Brazil is based on the increase in the number of products for sale. According to Aap, in 2012 the company launched in Brazil five appliances, all in the medium price range. In 2013, the idea is to reinforce this category with more options-including a model with two chips, the first of the brand in Brazil, but also bet on more expensive appliances. Cheaper models, the so-called smartphones, are out of the company's plans. "We want to be a manufacturer of premium smartphones. If the thread is not profitable, we prefer to stay out of the dispute, "said Stephen Sneeden, global marketing manager of manufacturer.
According to Aaron, another plan adopted by the company to gain space in Brazil is to reduce the difference between a global announcement and the arrival of the product to Brazil. The term, which today reaches two months, may fall for a month until the middle of the year. "When doing a quick launch, you can take advantage of the entire structure and spending on marketing that the company makes globally at that time," he said.
During the CES technology fair in Las Vegas, which ended on Friday, Sony released its first smartphone models of higher value since the end of the ' marriage ' of a decade with Ericsson in cell phones. The devices are very similar to each other in terms of roles. Because of this, Sony will bring to Brazil only the ZL, which was adapted for the local 4 g Standard and therefore received a new name: ZQ. The rest of the world, the appliance will use other standards. Sony did not give estimates of price or release date of the appliance to the Brazil.
