Falling export drops in automakers producing country

The federal Government's intervention in the automotive market helped retrieve sales, but production of vehicles fell by about 2%. What has damaged the Government action, which stimulated sales of cars with the rebate of the tax on industrialized products (IPI), were the international markets. Brazilian exports fell 20.1 percent in volume last year compared with 2011.
"It wasn't a year to be celebrated. The fall in values has also been expressive, 9%. We can't pass the increases of inputs and exchange costs to the prices of the exported cars. For 2013, does not see an improvement, "said Luiz Moan, Vice President of the National Association of Automotive vehicle manufacturers (Anfavea).
Brazilian automakers exported 442.07 million units last year, compared to 553.33 thousand vehicles. This volume yielded $ 11.81 billion to the corporate boxes. "We work with a dollar in the same 2012 for this year," he added. Moan is the next in line of succession of the Anfavea. He must take command of the entity in May this year.
With the fall in exports, Volkswagen, the company with greater volume shipped the industry must draw its production with its great rival. With three plants in operation in the country, the automaker must fabricate 850 thousand cars, the same volume of Fiat, which owns a production facility here.
With 36 years of Brazil, the Italian automaker now has the title of market leader in the country and divides the larger bat national producer. "2012 was the best year for the company in the national market and we will continue accelerating investment to sustain the leading position in sales and bigger market for the Corporation," said the President of Fiat, Cledorvino Belini, recently.
From 2006 until last year, Volkswagen felt the aggressiveness of Fiat in the domestic market. In contrast, VW kept exports a safe ground, what starts changing with the fall in many markets, such as the European buyers. Thus, the automaker saw its production drop of 1.06 million units in 2010, to around 850 thousand last year.
"In the total market, the fall in units reflects the international crisis, which hit several markets where target production of all automakers installed here," said Luiz Moan.
According to him, which maintained a level until acceptable production, 3.34 million compared with 3.40 million in 2011, fall of 1.9%, was precisely the domestic sales. Last year, 3.8 million vehicles were licensed compared to 3.66 million recorded in 2011. What resulted an increase of 4.6%.
"All this was only possible with the discount of the IPI. During the period (May to December) were marketed 400 thousand more cars on behalf of the benefit. This yielded an additional revenue of r $ 1.4 billion, "said Moan.
The back of the recovery of the normal tax rate is scheduled for July of this year and that, according to him, the discounted prices of cars that were granted by automakers in return for the lower rate of IPI, also end up. "We didn't discuss it with the Government, but it is a policy of each company. Each automaker will define how will be your price list, "said the leader.
Another consideration was the maintenance of jobs in the sector. As well as on the issue of prices, Moan stressed that, to guarantee the preservation of jobs in the factories is maintained "for now". "Since may already have accumulated more 5 thousand jobs."
