Marfrig jumps almost 4% with possible vegetable pig launch

In the morning of Thursday, Marfrig's shares (MRFG3) are traded with strong appreciation, in a positive scenario for the sector with the expectation of increased exports. Today's edition of folha de S. Paulo's S.A Panel informs that the company is in the advanced stages of development to put its version of vegan "pork". With this, around 11:35 a.m., the papers had gains of 3.66% to R$ 11.05. According to the publication, there would be only a few commercial adjustments to launch the product, but that do not yet have a set date. A prototype was approved internally, but the company declined to comment on the matter when it was sought by the newspaper. Folha recalls that the vegan pig shook the market this week at the launch of American vegetable protein startup Impossible Foods at the technology fair in Las Vegas. In August, Marfrig launched in Brazil the project of vegetable "beef", which soon began to be sold in the burger king chain (BKBR3) in the country and, at the end of the year, the first leads of the vegan burger were sent to China and Uruguay, with the brand Revolution, revolution. The column also highlights that in the country Fazenda do Futuro is developing the plant swine line, which should be developed in the next three months, but on a smaller scale.
