Export of beef from Brazil raises in August, with the highest volume since 2013

SAO PAULO-Brazilian beef exports grew in August compared with July and 13,4% 34% in comparison with the same month last year, to the biggest 145,822 tonnes reaching volumes in nearly four years, reported on Monday the Association The Brazilian Meat exporters (Abiec).

The Abiec reported that Hong Kong remained the main importer of brazilian beef, responsible for the purchase of 34,540 tons in August (7,4% more than was sold in July), followed by Egypt, which imported 23,070 tonnes (+ 27,8%), and China, with 18,565 tonnes (+ 15,1%).
In August, the meat in natura has maintained category more exported, generating revenues of more than 520 million dollars, with boarding more than 123,000 tonnes, according to data from the Abiec.
According to another entity representative of refrigerators in the country, the Abrafrigo, "the foreign market is going through a moment very favorable", being enjoyed by almost all countries exporters, which have increased their sales mainly for the Chinese market .
The Abrafrigo said that if the trend continues until the end of the year, Brazil can overcome a little the goal to grow 10% in about 2016, year of drop in sales, reaching the commercialization of more than 1.5 million tons.
Date of 2017, sales of fresh and processed beef reached 930,466 tons, virtually the same result seen in the same period last year, Abrafrigo said, citing Government data. Already revenues have risen 5%, adding 3.77 billion dollars compared with 3.58 billion in 2016.
