Machinery industry sales grow 1.7% in July, says Abimaq

SÃO PAULO-Considered an antecedent indicator of the level of investment in Brazil, industry sales of machinery and equipment rose 1.7% in July compared with the same month last year, to $5.86 billion, reported R this Wednesday, 30, the Brazilian Industry Association machinery and equipments (Abimaq). With that, the balance of trade in the sector was negative in US $ $2.4 billion in the first seven months of the year. The result represents low of 55% over the equivalent period deficit last year.
Employment and Nuci
According to Abimaq, ended July with 288,700 employees, number 5.7% less than the amount last July and 0.6% lower than the result verified at the end of June.
The Capacity utilization (Nuci) stood at 73.2% in July, compared with 70% in June and 67.1% in July last year.
