Cargill negotiates sale of two soybean crushing in Europe, say sources

The industry of agricultural commodities giant Cargill is in talks to sell two soybean processing plants in Western Europe, said sources with knowledge of the matter. The assets include a soybean processing plant with annual capacity of about 600 1000 tonnes in the Dutch city of Amsterdam, as well as a soybean processing plant and about 300 1000 tonnes of rapeseed of capacity in Brest, in France.
"Every moment Cargill is evaluating various initiatives to get ahead in your business strategy. Our policy is that we will communicate when and if anything is definite, "said a spokesman for Cargill. Two sources said the rival trader Bunge is interested in buying the assets, but the company did not respond to requests for comment by phone and e-mail.
