Sibelco Belgium invests in new factory in Brazil

São Paulo-Sibelco Belgium announced on Thursday (28) an investment of approximately r $ 150 million in a new plant of calcium carbonate in the State of São Paulo in Brazil.
"With more modern facilities, automated and more sustainable, we reinforce our position as a manufacturer of high quality calcium carbonate products in the country," he said in a statement the President and CEO of Sibelco South America, Paul Ckg.
According to the company, the new facility will include productive processes of inputs for the paint industry.
The capacity of the new plant is designed for 200 thousand tons of cargo and liquid mineral 35 thousand tons of ultrafine calcium carbonate for the plastic industry, which "will contribute to the reduction of imports of raw materials for the Country".
The company informed that the city will receive the plant, to be built over the next 18 months, has not yet been chosen.
"The Sibelco is seeking a strategic location which will give you better able to meet the industrial paints," said in the statement.
Partnership
The Sibelco reported that, in 2014, the company became a minority partner of the EDK mining, belonging to the Fairway. "This Association is part of the Sibelco-building strategic project in South America, seeking complementary products from our line of business." Companies act with independent administrations.
The EDK has presence in the municipality of Cachoeiro de Itapemirim (s), region known for huge reserves of calcite and dolomite, in addition to acting in the production of natural calcium carbonates.
Recently, the EDK expanded their business to Pernambuco, aiming at the market in the Northeast. The factory includes a complete unit of mass manufacturing race to the paint industry. The company also works in the markets of carbonates in the industries of ink, paper, plastic, steel and agriculture.
