According to a survey done by Ibravin (Brazilian Institute of wine), were sold 1.2 million liters of the drink in the months of January and February this year. This means an increase of 15.2% compared to the first two months of 2014.
The highlight is the Muscat, with an increase of 31%, and the sale of more than 310 thousand liters. In comparison with the average of the last five years (2010 to 2014), the growth rate is even more significant: 35.7% for sparkling wines in General and more than 50% in sale of Muscat.
For the promotion manager of Ibravin, Diego Bertolini, the result shows the trend of expansion of sales of sparkling wines in addition to the year-end holidays. "We see the muscats as the gateway to the world of wine. So, focus on radios with young profile and other initiatives in partnership with companies had effect ", he believes.
The President of the Sindivinho/RS (Sindicato da Indústria wine, grape must, drinks and Vinegars derived from Grape and wine), Gilberto Pedrucci, sets forth aspects that it considers decisive for the good results achieved by the sales of sparkling wines.
The entrepreneur highlights the cost benefit of the drink in relation to imported products and the drop in seasonality in consumption. "The fact that people are consuming the product in different periods of the year and strengthening the image of the sparkling Brazilians with excellent reviews in publications and international competitions contribute to consolidate the position of Brazil and the competitiveness of products," he says.
