Import of fertilizer grows 12% until August in the ports of PR

From January to August this year, the ports of Paranagua and Antonina, Paraná, imported 6.3 million tons of fertilizers, volume 12% higher than the same period of 2012 (5.7 million tonnes).
According to statement released by the administration of ports of Paranagua and Antonina (Appa), improvements in the structure of ports allowed the operation of vessels of fertilizers to become more agile. In the same period last year, there were 53 ships waiting offshore to load fertilizer on Paraná ports. Today there are only 11, 80% drop in the waiting time, according to Appa.
From January to August, have docked at ports to unload ships 319 Parana fertilizers. In the same period in 2012, were 269 ships. In comparison with last year, the six berths dedicated to fertilizer operation had an average productivity gain of almost 10%. The percentage of ships that did not meet minimum productivity, fell from 31% to 16% up to August this year, according to Appa.
