Budny will invest r $ 38 million in new plant

The manufacturer of agricultural machines and implements Budny, 100% national capital company headquartered in Santa Catarina, held the ceremony of laying the cornerstone of his first tractor factory in the North of Brazil: with initial investment of r $ 38 million, the unit will be built in Ji-Paraná, 374 kilometers from the capital of Porto Velho, in Rondonia. In a plot of land donated by a local businessman, on State Highway Pastor Severus, linking Ji-Paraná in New London, the new unit will produce low-sized tractors, from 28 horsepower, and up to 120 horsepower.
It is expected that the unit will generate 300 direct jobs and the beginning of its activities is planned for 2014.
"Our tractors and equipment are on family farming and to produce them we will give priority to local hires, as engineers and lathe operators, technicians, designers and many other professionals," said the President and founder of the company, Carlos Budny.
The ceremony of unveiling the cornerstone was the presence of the Governor of Rondonia, Confucius Moura, Mayor of Ji-Paraná, Jesualdo Pires, plus other authorities.
"We are pleased for the opportunity to bring many to Ji-Paraná a major investment for our city. This plant will be a watershed for the development of agribusiness of the whole region, "said the Mayor.
This is will be the second plant of Budny, founded 22 years and focused on machinery and equipment for agriculture. The first factory of its parent company-is located in the municipality of Içara (SC), whose new premises were inaugurated at the end of November of 2012, increasing the annual production of 240 to 760 tractors. With the growth of its sales in the agricultural market, the company expanded the business and last December signed a contract with the MWM, who went on to provide in January 2013, their engines for tractors with power of 62 HP, 83 HP and 103 HP.
