Nestlé develops supply tracking

Nestlé launches a blockchain pilot platform for the consumer to track the supply chain. The blockchain is a distributed logging technology that seeks decentralisation as a security measure. In the case of Nestlé, it allows the registration of the origin and destination of a product, from production until the arrival to the consumer. Through a partnership with the OpenSC Blockchain platform, announced last Tuesday (2), the pilot program will track the milk of farms and producers in New Zealand to the Nestlé factories and warehouses in the Middle East. Later, the technology will be tested using palm oil from the Americas.
