This coverage is more than three times higher than the obligation established in the auctions of licenses for mobile services, 1,079 municipalities. 3 g coverage also increased, reaching 5,151 municipalities in January, where 98.9% of the brazilian population live. Since January 2017, 163 new municipalities received the 3 g networks. In all, the number of accesses 3 g comes to 81 million in the country. 3 g coverage goes far beyond the current obligation of 3,917 municipalities. In total, Brazil already has 205 million internet access by mobile network. Considered fixed and mobile access, data from January show a total of 234 million hits in the country. Of these, 29.1 million are in fixed broadband, segment which grew 8.7 percent in 12 months, with 2.4 million of new hits.
