Shipments of sweet milk totaled $ 106,420 from January to July this year

Minas Gerais has been pushing hard to add more value to their exports. And although the numbers are not as expressive as those established in other items of foreign trade, the dulce de leche typically miner has been one of the highlights of the trade balance.
According to the Government, the first seven months of 2016, in addition to the traditional products exported (iron ore, coffee, sugar, gold and precious stones), Minas Gerais was the state exported dulce de leche in the country ($ 106.42 thousand), followed by Sao Paulo ($ 27070) and Santa Catarina (US $ 13.06 thousand).
The data make up the balance of trade of Minas Gerais, published monthly by Exportaminas, foreign trade unit of the Government of Minas Gerais. According to the survey, until July of this year, shipments of sweet milk sent to the United States accounted for 83.8% of mining product exports. Currently, the candy manufactured in Minas Gerais has already fallen in taste from countries such as United Kingdom, Angola and neighboring Bolivia.
On the last day of August 21, the dulce de leche miner reaffirmed its leading position in the domestic market. During the 42nd National Dairy Contest, conducted by the Research Company of Minas Gerais (Epamig), in Juiz de Fora, in the forest zone, the first three places of the competition which elected best dulce de leche in the country were miners. The champion of the competition--which featured 11 categories-was the sweet milk of Viçosa.
