Expanding trade advances

Gradually, the perception of entrepreneurs in the trade that the economy is recovering is growing. By the fourth month followed, the expansion of Trade Index (IEC) prepared by the Federation of trade in goods, services and tourism of the State of São Paulo (FecomercioSP), rose 0.1 percent in August, compared to the immediately preceding month.
In the period, the indicator pointed 77.9 points, representing an even greater growth in the face of last August, when the index was at 67.2 points.
Although show recovery, however, the index stands for 19 months under 100 points, which indicates, in the view of the FecomercioSP, little willingness of retailers to invest or hire.
The level of investment of the enterprises, which corroborates the IEC, amounted to 2.1% also in August, compared to July.
Compared to the previous year, the indicator rose by 3.1%.
Already the sub-index of expectations for hiring employees fell 1.1% over the same period.
