Retail billing paulista in January is the lowest for the month since 2010

SÃO PAULO-São Paulo State retailers achieved revenues of R$ 44.1 billion in January, the smallest volume for the month since 2010, this Friday, 8 the Trade Federation of goods, services and services of the State of São Paulo (FecomercioSP). The amount represents real fall of 4.7% compared to the result of January 2015. The recoil is even more intense in comparison with December (22.3%) due to higher sales volume in the month of Christmas.
The shops of building materials were the ones that had the biggest pullback in the first month of the year against the same period last year. The retreat was 20.6%. The car dealerships appear soon after, with 16.4% drop, pressured by the crisis in the automotive sector. For the same reason, sales of auto parts and accessories stores retreated 5.2 percent.
Once again, the only segments that presented were the growth of supermarkets, with a high of 6.1%, and pharmacies and perfumeries, with 8.1% advance in comparison with January last year. The remaining segments surveyed were: appliances, electronics, and department stores ( -9.7%), furniture and decoration ( -2%), clothing stores, fabrics and footwear ( -0.9%) and other activities ( -11%).
