Petrobras raises gasoline prices by 4% in refineries

Petrobras raised the price of gasoline at refineries by about 4% on Wednesday (27), on monday's rise in just over a week, amid the appreciation of the dollar against the real. Diesel, by contrast, was kept stable, according to the state oil company on its website. With the increase, gasoline reached about R$ 1.92 per liter, a maximum since the end of May, when it reached approximately R$ 1.95 per liter, according to data from the state-owned company compiled by Reuters. The transfer of adjustments of values in refineries to final consumers in the posts depends on several factors, such as margins of resellers and distributors, mixtures of biofuels and taxes. The last adjustment had been made on the 19th, when the price of gasoline was raised by 2.8%, after more than 50 days without changes in price. The day before, the dollar closed up 0.63%, at R$ 4.2394, renewing nominal maximum. With the surge in recent days, the U.S. currency accumulates a 5.73% rise against the real in the partial of the month. In the year, the advance is 9.43% compared to the real. In the international market, gasoline increased by 6.3%, in the accumulated from the last petrobras adjustment until the day before "Undoubtedly the exchange rate has a strong influence, but... the price of gasoline, and also diesel, are rising in the international market," Sérgio Araújo, president of the Brazilian Association of Fuel Importers (Abicom), told Reuters.
