Cimenteira turns oil collected in the Northeast into fuel

The cement company LafargeHolcim is transforming oil collected on the beaches of the Northeast into alternative fuel, generating calorific energy for cement production. For this, the Caaporã unit (PB), one of the cement plants authorized to perform coprocessing in Brazil, is mixing this material to plastics, as a way to give environmentally correct destination to oil. The unit in Paraíba has the potential to feed the ovens with up to 1,000 tons per month of the product that is polluting the beaches.
