Electric bills will continue with green flag in March

BRASILIA-the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) reported that the accounts will have light green flag in March. With that, consumers will not have to pay additional fee during the period. The green flag has been in place since January. The mechanism signals power generation favourable conditions, with rain reaching the reservoirs of hydroelectric plants. "Despite the green flag, it is important that consumers keep the actions related to the conscious use and combating waste of electricity", said Aneel. The flags tariff system takes into account the level of the reservoirs of hydroelectric plants and the energy prices in the spot market (PLD). In the new system, the green flag continues without extra charge. The yellow flag, the extra fee is R $1.00 every 100 kilowatt-hours (kWh) consumed. In the first level of the red flag, the extra is R $3.00 every 100 kWh. And on the second level of the red flag, the collection is R $5.00 every 100 kWh.
