Supermarkets Record Deflation in November

Supermarkets in the State of Sao Paulo recorded deflation of 0.64% in November, compared with the previous month. The data is the supermarkets ' price index (IPS), calculated by the São Paulo Association of Supermarkets (APAS) and by the Economic Research Institute Foundation (FIPE). Year to date sum 3.78% inflation. According to the Association, the price drop is associated with variation in products linked to the dollar. The category of baked goods and pasta closed the month with 0.08% reduction and milk had 12.5% drop. Fresh produce products already showed high.
