Electronic security industry predicts rise in residential projects in 2019

The residences are the big bet of the electronic security industry growth in 2019. Even though seven out of ten companies have worked in projects of the genre in 2018, the percentage of homes equipped with technologies is still considered small in the country. "There is a very large market to be explored in the residential area," said the Brazilian President of DCI Association of Electronic Security Systems (Abese), Selma Migliori. According to her, the Brazilian households that rely on "some kind" of protective technology still roam the 15%; in more mature markets the situation would be reversed, with 80% of the homes already equipped. On the other hand, signs of greater relevance to the home care segment were issued throughout this year. "In 2018, 69% of service providers worked in residential projects," said Selma. "There is a change in the scenario". According to the Chairman, such a move is caused by different factors. One of them would be the "feeling of insecurity of Brazil in recent years". In parallel, "the development of the domestic industry" would be allowing the release of products "most suitable and accessible to smaller projects." The emergence of new solutions should follow as one of the brands of the segment of electronic security in 2019: second the Abese, 95% of companies intend to launch products over the next year, whether they are solutions to the residential area or for the market in General. "This is important because it shows what we believe in even greater growth for 2019", signaled the Abese President. The estimation of the entity is terminating 2018 with some R $6.5 billion in market movement, front R $6.04 billion a year earlier. Partnerships "Today the corporate area still dominates [a customer base in the industry]", Selma. According to the Chairman, the facial recognition stands out as one of the main demands of companies for the next year. Other highlights are gatehouses, mobility and artificial intelligence. In the case of the public segment, the main interest would be an update of equipment ready for communication in the cloud. "That's in the budget planning of almost every city," said Selma. The Abese, however, sees a convergence between the public and corporate segments for years to come: the entity itself is "encouraging large enterprises like shopping malls and hospitals" implement technologies that can "cooperate with organs audiences. " "The idea is that they deploy technologies [like IP cameras] not only internally, but also in the surroundings," said Selma. In São Paulo (SP), a collaborative pilot project would already be under way, with the participation of the Hospital das Clínicas and shopping Eldorado. Another trend that's moving the market for electronic security systems is the growth in the number of service providers – that would be 75% of the companies in the market. "The jump in 2018 have been great," said the President of the Abese. " It is worth mentioning that one of the reasons for this is the lack of barriers to entry, "Selma – showing some concern scored with the quality of service of companies offering low-cost-based. "In this segment, the cheap can be expensive in the future." According to the Chairman, the approval of the status of Private Security could resolve the issue by setting guarantees and criteria such as minimum share capital for the activity. "The law already passed by the House and Senate committees. All that's missing is the signature of the President [of the House, Eunício Oliveira] to follow to sanction. "
