INCREASES THE FRAME OF IMPORTERS OF CHICKEN MEAT

Compared to previous months the Group of main importers of brazilian chicken meat remains unchanged: between January and September 2018 the first 10 importers accounted for two-thirds of the total exported and the remaining third distributed between 143 countries. The only difference, it seems, is in the number of countries served, which increased 12.5%, from 136 in the same period last year to 153 countries currently. In common between the two groups, the reduction in the volume imported. Six of the 10 major importers register indentation. IE: the group, the increase is restricted to China (+ 10.25%), United Arab Emirates (+ 2.77%), Mexico (+ 18.33%) and South Korea (+ 25.36%). However, in terms of markets served, it is appropriate to consider that the fall recorded by Hong Kong (26300 tons less) was neutralized by China (30500 tons). Thus, the Chinese market has expanded its imports and remains as the main recipient of brazilian chicken meat, absorbing around 16.5% of the total exported by the Country (in the recipe, the Chinese participation rises to 18% of the total). Speaking of revenue, China, again, is among the few countries (only three) that they closed the first nine months of 2018 providing revenue increase compared to the same period last year. In this case, however, the increase in Chinese recipe not neutralized the fall of more than 13%, recorded by Hong Kong. Besides China, therefore, only two other countries registered increase in revenue in the period: South Africa and South Korea. Here, however, there is some surprise in relation to South Africa. Because although they have slightly reduced their imports (little more than half a percent), South Africans record increase of almost 5% in foreign exchange revenue. Sign of appreciation of the product, or the export of items with higher added value.
