Enel Green Power uses robots and drones in solar power plants in the Northeast

The renewable energy generating Enel Green Power is using drones and robots to seek greater efficiency in the operation of its solar power plants in Brazil. The company now has eight drones, to conduct inspections of solar panels, and nine robots, to trim the undergrowth, in five of its plants. According to the company, the drones inspection allows the company to identify flaws that could take about 10 years to be noticed by hand. Million panels. Among the units that received the innovation, are the two largest solar parks of South America: Nova Olinda, in the State of Piauí, and Ituverava, in Bahia. Each of them has almost 1 million solar panels. In total, the parks of Enel in Brazil have added, 2.6 million of panels, spread across land of approximately 2,300 acres.
