O Boticário maintains leadership in higher ranking franchises

SAO PAULO-the network O Boticário kept in 2017 the lead in the ranking "50 greatest franchises", drawn up by the Brazilian Franchising Association (ABF). Despite the first place, the network opened 32 new stores just last year, closing with 3,762 units in operation.
Second place went to AM PM, that in 2016 had figured in fourth place. The network of convenience with expertise in gas stations opened nearly 400 stores in the period, from 2,039 points of sale to the end of 2016 to 2,414 at the end of last year.
According to market intelligence Manager, Vanessa Bretas, franchise networks located in gas stations or related to automotive services segment had featured in the ranking of 2017. BR Mania convenience store jobs, BR, was in eighth place, with 1,311 units and the net Jet Oil in fifth place, with 1,735 operations.
A highlight of the study, in the view of the expert, was the growth of the participation of other formats in the number of units of the 50 largest in the sector. At the end of 2016, the participation of alternative formats physical stores, such as kiosks and home-based, was from 6% to 9% at the end of this year. "This diversification really helped these networks to continue growing even in a difficult scenario," he says.
