Bayer says it needs more time to complete acquisition of Monsanto

MONHEIM, Germany-the German manufacturer of medicines and agrochemicals Bayer said it will probably take until the beginning of next year to complete the planned purchase of the American Monsanto seeds group, by 66 billion deal that was supposed to be completed at the end of 2017.
The European Commission analysing the acquisition, with the deadline of 8 January. Bayer said in a note that asked the regulator an extension of this period up to 22 January. The Commission initiated an in-depth investigation last month on such acquisition, saying he was worried about the competition in several markets of pesticides and seeds.
