Sale of Multiplan grows in August

São Paulo-sales of shopping centers of Multiplan grew in the first half of August, but at a smaller pace than observed in July, said yesterday the company's Vice President of finance, Armando D'almeida.
"We're seeing malls fuller and a phenomenon of growing sales," said the Executive at a meeting with analysts and investors, held in São Paulo.
Asked about possible mergers and acquisitions in the sector, D'almeida said see many opportunities, but pondered what deals may take longer to get out because the prices are not at attractive levels.
"Fortunately has many opportunities that keeps us busy. But we want to grow and be profitable without excessive debt exposure, "he said.
The Administrator stressed that malls see big opportunities for growth through the expansion of the enterprises already in operation. Since the IPO, in 2007, the company expanded the gross leasable area in more than 163%.
"I believe that growth of gross leasable area will continue over the next few years," said D'almeida.
The Executive noted that in the past ten years, the company expanded the food and service areas in malls, providing same store sales results better than other more conventional segments, such as clothing.
"So are the shopping malls of the future", he commented on the company's efforts to offer more activities and entertainment services to consumers of the company.
First semester
In the first six months of the year sales of the shopkeepers in malls of Multiplan have risen by 7.4%, reaching the R $6.71 billion.
There was also a period advance of net administrator of malls, who grew up in 2.5%, to R $562.2 million. The average occupancy rate also expanded, rising from 97.6% at the end of June 2016, to 97.7 percent in June this year.
