Fenabrave: sales fall 5.2% in July

Sales of light commercial cars, trucks and buses new in Brazil in July fell 5.2% in June, but advanced 1.9% compared with the same month last year, said yesterday the National Federation of distribution of motor vehicles (Fenabrave).
The licenses last month totaled 184,838 units, equivalent to 8,801 plates issued per working day, above the average for the year of 8,137, indicating that the industry''s sales are in line with industry expectations of gradual improvement from mid-2017.
Fenabrave President, Alaric Assumpção Jr said that the fall in sales compared with June already was expected because of "the uncertainty of the current political landscape". The entity maintains "positive expectations" for the second half based on the advancement of credit offer.
