The textile sector will advance 5.5% in 2018

The turnover of the textile industry and clothing must register a 5.5% in 2018-reaching R $152 billion. The projection is of the Brazilian Association of Textile and Clothing Industry (Abit). The apparel production should increase 2.5 percent to 6.05 billion pieces, and textiles may grow 4% in the period, to 1,840,000 tons. The investments will reach R $2.25 billion next year, an increase of 18.4% R $1.9 billion recorded in this year. Imports will also maintain the growth in 2018, with the expectation of reaching US $ $5.07 billion, an increase of 12% compared to this year. Exports are moving in 5%, to $ $1.05 billion.
