In partnership with the Pure Mineral water, Plastipak packaging develops with 35% less plastic

Taking into account the new consumption habits and the growing concern with the preservation of nature, Plastipak, reference in quality and trends in packaging sector, developed in conjunction with the Pure Natural Mineral water and a new eco-friendly packaging. The Super-Lightweight Bottle, of 9.7 grams, has 35% plastic reduction compared to the previous container, 14.8 grams, beyond the CAP that weighs only 1 ounce, pointing a decrease of 56% in comparison to the former. These changes prevent the disposal of more than 110 tons of raw material per year. The changes were made in 497 ml bottle flat of Mato Grosso company.
The solution was designed with the goal of developing a lighter, contributing to the environment. Sustainability is present in the whole process because, with the reduction in the use of raw material, the cost for transport and storage of this new bottle also decrease.
In addition, the packing resistance was not affected by the reduction of plastic in your composition. The area of development and technique of Plastipak created a new design that, in addition to maintaining a good structure, also kept the same volume of the bottle before. To this end, developed an innovative format by generating a greater emphasis at the point of sale, which consequently will increase product sales.
"The Plastipak, by having a water mill in the group, has a lot of experience with this type of ultralight packing and brought all this know-how to the Brazilian market" says Evandro Pereira, General Manager of Plastipak in Brazil. "In relation to Pure, it was possible to line up all these points with the brand strategy (ECO) and our client was a pioneer using this solution in the Midwest", he adds.
But the concern for the environment will not stop on 497 ml bottle, according to sales manager and partner of Pure Mineral water and Natural, Philip Franzner, the goal is to deploy this new technology in all packages as possible. "In addition, we have a project to collect discarded pet packaging along with the population that will be released soon. With this project we will further reduce the amount of PET disposed in the environment, "he explains.
