Government collects 800,000 liters of oil unfit

The MAP (Ministry of agriculture, livestock and supply) cut 800,000 liters of olive oil not fit for consumption, with evidence of fraud, involving 64 marks and 84 Brazilian companies. Confirmed the presence of oil "lampante" (unrefined) and other oils such as soy, not allowed by the law. In 311 samples collected across the country also found information on labels errors.

The federal agricultural tax auditor Fatima Parizzi, General Coordinator of DIPOV vegetable Quality (inspection of products of plant origin), reported that in the period from April to November of 2017 have been audited 76 marks and made 240 tax actions throughout the Country. 120 professionals got audited envasilhadoras industries as well as companies in the wholesale and retailer.
According to the Auditor, of the total Parizzi samples collected and forwarded to the Rio Grande do Sul to the LANAGRO (National Agricultural Laboratory), official lab MAP, 33 have presented "results in line", i.e. were within the established quality standards by the Ministry. For olive oil, in 43 samples, the laboratory tests result "not complying", by CJ as "out", or "disqualified". Trading was suspended and the products withdrawn from the market ".
In addition to qualitative disparities related to product labelling irregularities were identified, containing incorrect or dubious information about the composition of the product envasilhado, which resulted in the withdrawal of 380,000 litres of the market. The auditor said that to curb fraud, identified annually, the MAP adopted supplementary measures to control the entry of the oil "lampante" in Brazil, significantly reducing imports. Is one of the main products used for fraud in the industrialization of the olive oil.
October to February 2016 2017 the Brazil imported 650,000 litres of "lampante olive oil". From March 2017, when intensified supervisory actions and the technical monitoring of lots, from the origin to the processing, reduced import your 84000 liters, which are still in the process of internationalization, waiting for refining.
"In addition to the punitive measures applied by the MAP," added Parizzi, "the information about fraudadoras companies were passed on to State public ministries and also the Federal. By the time were signed four conduct adjustment Terms (TACs) in the State of Paraná. Research processes are underway in other States that will demand new corrective actions and consequent punishment ".
