Bicycle production falls by October

Sao Paulo-the production of bicycles in Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM) grew 4.1% in October compared to the previous year, to 75000 units. However, during the first 10 months of 2017, there was no indentation of 1.7% as compared to the same period last year, to 575,800 bicycles.

According to the data of the Ministry of industry, Trade and services (MDIC) analyzed by Abraciclo, imports of bicycles in Brazil totaled, in October, 23300 units, 55.7% higher than the volume registered in the same month of 2016 and 20.2% greater than the calculated in September This year.
Most of the bicycles imported during the period was produced basically in China (21800), in Taiwan, (1300 units), followed by Spain (111 units). In January to October, were imported, high 1 bikes 116,100% with respect to the same period in 2016.
Already bicycle exports in October totaled 975 units, with Bolivia destinations (961) and Paraguay (14 units). The accumulated volume of shipments from January to October totaled 8860 units, a 108.5% growth compared to the registered in the same period to 2016, according to Abraciclo.
