Fertilizers represented 18.45% of imports lines from Goiás in December 2016

The trade balance goiana, in January to December 2016, presented record surplus, even in a year of economic crisis. During this period, the lines from Goiás exports totaled US $5,930,107,746, registering an increase of 0.88% over same period in 2015. Imports totaled $2,641,342,182 in the same period, with 21.46% drop on the previous year and accumulated surplus of $3,288,765,564.
Just in the month of December, lines from Goiás exports showed increase of 37.16% compared to November 2016, with figures of $419,704,674, thereby maintaining the trade balance surplus of Goiás for the 36th consecutive month when exporting almost 400 different products to 109 countries.
In addition, while there was an increase in exports, Goiás mattered less in December. Imports last month totaled US $188,754,485, which represents a retraction of 22.23% over November 2016 and a decrease of 10.15 percent compared to December 2015. The trade balance for the month showed surplus of $230,950,189.
Executive Superintendent of foreign trade during the year 2016, William O''Dwyer evaluates the year closed with good news for Goiás in foreign trade. In second place were the Netherlands (Holland), who bought last month 13.34% of products exported by Goiás, mostly soy complex, ferro-alloys, beef, poultry and food preparations. Also in December, China was the third country mattered of Goiás (8.42%), followed by Iran (5.46%).
Imports
In December, Goiás 1,288 different products imported 63 countries. Pharmaceutical products lead the ranking of imports, amounting to US $41,826,403, with participation of 22.16% of the total value of imports. This number represents shrinkage of 50.23% compared to December 2015. Fertilisers appears in second place in the ranking of products imported, representing 18.45% of all imported value by the State only in December.
The United States occupied the first place in the ranking of countries from which products were imported in December, amounting to US $26,956,953, which is equivalent to 14.28% of total imports. In second place was Germany with 14.14 percent, followed by South Korea, which represents 12.46% of total imports. China, India, Russia, Japan, Canada and Thailand also are among the major countries that have exported to Goias last month.
