Consumer electronics sales should grow back in 2017

After two straight years of falling, sales of consumer electronics in Brazil should grow back in 2017, according to the consulting firm Gartner. About of 55,200,000 of devices such as computers, laptops, tablets, and mobile phones will be sold this year in the country, according to the updated projection of the company.
In comparison to 2016, the high is 2.7%. Despite the improvement, the Brazilian growth in the segment should follow the global trend and cool in the next few years, says David Glenn, an analyst at Gartner.
"Brazil will not return to the level of 2014," he says. "The consumer interest for computers and notebooks has decreased in the country and is expected to fall at a rate of 5% per year until 2020. The biggest jump in consumption of 2%, should occur in the lighter and modern equipment, "says Glenn.
