The Brazil 17.1% recycled post-consumer PVC raised in 2014. This number corresponds to 1000 of 1000 134.2 22.9 tonnes of post-consumer PVC generated in the period. Compared to the index of 2013, registered growth of 0.7 percentage points. The growth of the recycling of raw materials has been at 11 percent a year since 2005. What keeps this high are the average results obtained until 2012, the year in which the increase reached 21% compared to the previous year. In the last three years, the index approached the stability. From 2005 to 2014, the amount of post-consumer PVC generated increased an average of 3% per annum, below the number recycled volume growth. This data is important and positive. Demonstrates that the amount of material recycled and not destined to landfills has decreased. The numbers are from a survey commissioned by the Instituto do PVC to Maxiquim, consulting firm specializing in the industrial segment, and followed the IBGE methodology. Compared to figures from other countries, the brazilian situation can be considered advanced. There is still, however, good potential for growth. In other countries, the operation reaches higher levels. The case, for example, the United Kingdom and France, with 19.8% and 22.0% respectively. The survey involved companies of all Brazil. In all, were found 72 companies responsible for recycling of PVC in the country. They did R$ 141.8 million, which represents growth of 4.6% per year during the period from 2005 to 2014. Are responsible for the direct employment of 1,415 professionals. The installed capacity of this activity went beyond the House of 86 1000 tons last year, with an increase of 1% from 2013. This increase is credited to the promulgation of the national solid waste policy (PNRS), still under discussion. The PVC recycling companies are located mainly in the South and Southeast regions, with emphasis to Sao Paulo. Not by chance are the regions with the highest power consumption and the main plastic processing industries in Brazil.
