CADE approves purchase of owner Select by Dutch company

The Administrative Council for economic Defense (Cade) approved without restrictions on purchase by the Dutch group Jacobs Douwe Egberts (JDE) company brazilian Foods and World Agricultural assets and enterprises, including the well-known coffee brand select, second order published this Monday (16) in the Official Gazette.
"With the acquisition of quotas of Food and of World assets, intends to increase its operations in the JDE Brazilian coffee," according to document submitted by the companies of Cade.
The JDE will stay with equipment and buildings used for the production and storage of coffee, in addition to copyright concerning certain jingles that reference to Select brands.
The jingle of the café select, created decades ago, is considered one of the most well-known in the history of brazilian advertising.
The giant Jacobs Douwe Egberts already operates in Brazil with brands such as Pestle, Caboclo and Coffee.
